They do not. If you feel physical rehabilitation or integrative care will benefit your pet, we encourage you to make an appointment. Second opinions, additional supportive care and alternatives to surgery are among the many reasons our clients bring their pets to see Dr. Ilana. Get started by filling out our New Client History Intake Form when you’re ready!
You do not. We will request all medical records including X-rays from all of your pet’s veterinarians and specialists before we see your pet. You can bring your pet’s favorite treats if you like, but it is not necessary.
We do offer discounted packages for the underwater treadmill and laser treatments.
90 minutes can seem like a long time. However, Dr. Ilana needs this amount of time to make sure all aspects of your pet’s health are addressed and all your questions are answered. Also, sometimes it takes a while for your pet to settle into the new surroundings and for everyone to get to know each other. Most clients are surprised at how quickly the time goes!
Please don’t worry! We have secure exam rooms and a large sliding door which separates the main workout area and pool from the waiting area which minimizes contact with other dogs. Also, our clinic is not like most vet hospitals. We intentionally created the space to be a relaxing environment for everyone. It’s more like a doggy gym and day spa, and we have plenty of treats on hand. Our patients LOVE coming to see us and most of them don’t want to leave!
We are here to assist patients that have mobility impairments, chronic physical pain, athletic/sports injuries, or those recovering from orthopedic/neurologic surgeries. Physical Rehabilitation services enhance the quality of care that A Well Adjusted Pet already provides your pet! In addition to integrative medical services, Dr. Ilana Strubel is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist and Veterinary Chiropractor to help with your pet’s rehab needs.
We can provide rehabilitative services for such conditions as:
In addition to other services, Dr. Ilana recommends an array of specific rehabilitative treatments and devices to help your pet get back on track. Her recommendations include:
Any patient that needs mobility assisting devices must first be thoroughly evaluated by Dr. Ilana, who may recommend products from this list.
If your pet is recovering from a recent surgery, we must receive a completed authorization release form from your referring veterinarian(s) or veterinary surgical specialist in order to begin treating your pet with physical rehabilitation exercise services. We also request that all clients complete our Pet Mobility Questionnaire.
If you are otherwise seeking consultation please request that your regular veterinarian(s) send all medical records, diagnostic imaging results, and surgical reports prior to your appointment.
